Once the lathe was in its final position in the Eco-Shed, I had to install some new electric outlets, change the hydraulic oil in the variable speed gearbox as it had been out of action for a couple of years, repair the drawer runners and build a new tool rack to house the 25 chisels that came with the beast. Now that's all taken care of, I can get started and begin to machine the complex shafts for The Splinter - once I've figured out how to use it! Give me a couple of days and I'll be banging out candlestick holders, goblets, eggcups and bowls so get your orders in early, if you want one of my practice pieces... |
