I have had a struggle on my hands to build a strong yet controllable steering system. What has emerged from the bench is what can only be described as a chunky plywood butt hinge. Only when we get the front wheel on and James climbs onboard and positions himself, shall we see whether or not it will take the strain... I have also made the main components for the drive mechanism. This involved 1024 cuts on the Pin Router to copy the mdf templates onto plywood. I still have many more components to produce and I have no access to a CNC machine so it's all being done old school style, by hand, on the bench... (the way it should be). |
